I have found that one size does not fit all when it comes to teaching. There are certain procedures and skills that are needed in teaching; however, the topics covered and how they are taught should be chosen for each individual and for the current experience. I believe that most of the material covered in education is more easily grasped once the technical academic jargon of a discipline has been removed. When working with students, I speak in their language and leave the overly complicated vocabulary out of the discussion. I believe that this approach allows students to learn concepts in a single 45 minute session that would otherwise have taken years or even a lifetime to learn. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the State University of New York - Stony Brook. I have over nine years of teaching experience in Math and Science for New York City public schools. I am looking to tutor in many areas of Math and Science, along with test preparation for both the ACT and SAT. Outside of education, I enjoy composing music, playing the guitar, drawing, martial arts, and sports.
